Summer Sunday at the Zoo

Today was a beautiful summer Sunday.
What a great day to go to the zoo!

We arrived just in time for a mid-day feeding time.

For $2, visitors could feed the giraffes a sprig of some type of tree.

Great photo opportunity!

The little giraffe was so little!

The biggest one was so big!

The elephants were at the "watering hole".

The Mexican Wolves were a treat to see.

Time to visit the amphibian exhibit.
What big eyes you have!

I love frogs!

Buffalo Stampede!

Time for a rest break in Africa.

Cuteness break...
How cute am I?!!!!

Is this iPhone camera any good?

Onward Through Africa!

Where is Chopper?

Rolling in the mud!

You ever let your young ones play in the mud?

BeJu Who?

I heard that there will be a new BJD girl in town
arriving in October.
I don't know if she will come to live here,
but she is a cousin of Leeann,
and Leeann  has cool clothes and toys.

I'm thinking that I just might end up with some new clothes!
It has been so hard to find BJD fashions in my size,
maybe the new girl will have some fun new clothes!

What do you mean that there are BOYS in this line, too?

Visiting Friend

A special visitor arrived from Texas at the beginning of the summer.
The plan was take her all around as a tourist,
but Elin Iplehouse ended up being more of an angel than a tourist.

San Felipe de Neri Church

She was out and visible, and appreciated daily,
but ended up bringing Mikayla out of her box
and reminding me to love the dolls I already have.
I did not take her out as I had planned.

Her mother called a few days ago and said it is time for Elin
to rejoin her family in Texas,
but was willing to let her stay for one more weekend so that we could thank her
for her visit and the very important role she played for Mikayla.

I was planning on taking only Elin with me as two girls can be handful!
When Elin heard that Mikayla had not been out in the longest while, though,
she insisted that Mikayla come, too.

Both girls had a good time getting their picture taken all over Old Town!

I was very careful to make sure both girls were standing firmly!

Live Spanish music was being performed in the plaza gazebo
as we got ready to leave Old Town.

Thank you for visiting us, Elin!
Have a safe trip home!

Elin is happy and at home again!
